Skill pack
The Fictix skill pack is a small folder of plain-text files that teaches an agent the Fictix API without it re-deriving conventions from this whole site: a skill definition, a copy of the repo-level rules file, and a set of working examples. It's more than the single skill snippet on AI agent integration — that page shows you how to write your own minimal skill by hand; this pack is the version Fictix publishes and maintains directly, ready to drop in.
What's inside
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
SKILL.md |
Skill frontmatter plus a distilled brief: auth layers, canonical entities, read/paginate/export conventions, error handling. |
AGENTS.md |
A copy of the repo-root AGENTS.md — the full brief, unabridged. |
examples.md |
Working curl/jq examples: reading data, company info, catalog discovery, CSV export, idempotent demo-job creation, and staging organization keys. |
Each file is a plain download — fetch it directly, or have an agent fetch it for you:
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/SKILL.md
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/AGENTS.md
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/examples.md
None of these files should ever contain a real API key. Read
FICTIX_PROJECT_API_KEY or FICTIX_ORGANIZATION_API_KEY from the environment at runtime; treat a committed
SKILL.md or AGENTS.md like any other source file a teammate — or the
internet — can read.
Install for Claude Code
Claude Code loads a skill from a folder under .claude/skills/. Create the
folder and copy the pack's files into it:
mkdir -p .claude/skills/fictix
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/SKILL.md -o .claude/skills/fictix/SKILL.md
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/AGENTS.md -o .claude/skills/fictix/AGENTS.md
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/examples.md -o .claude/skills/fictix/examples.md
Claude Code discovers .claude/skills/fictix/SKILL.md automatically and
loads the rest of the folder as supporting files the skill can reference.
Install for other agents
Most other coding agents (Cursor, Codex, and similar tools) read a plain
AGENTS.md from the repo root instead of a skills folder. Drop the pack's
AGENTS.md there directly:
curl -sS https://fictix-docs.vercel.app/fictix-skill-pack/AGENTS.md -o AGENTS.md
If you already have a repo-root AGENTS.md, append the Fictix section
instead of overwriting your existing rules. Keep examples.md nearby (for
example alongside the AGENTS.md you just saved) so an agent that wants a
worked example can find one without leaving the repo.
Keeping it current
The pack is a snapshot of the same source Fictix documents everywhere else
— AGENTS.md and the canonical entity list in particular can change as the
API evolves. Re-run the curl commands above periodically, or point an agent
at /llms-full.txt for the full current docs set instead
of relying on a pack fetched once and never refreshed.
